Rep. Ilhan Omar was criticized by conservatives for speaking about her support for Somalia and Somaliland in a video.
She was addressing a crowd in Minneapolis and expressing solidarity with Somali Americans and their motherland.
Many prominent conservatives took issue with the video, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene and former Republican Virginia Rep. Denver Riggleman.
MTG has introduced a resolution to censure Ilhan Omar for her treasonous comments about Somalia.

Omar responded to the controversy by defending her statement and expressing her support for Somalis in Somalia and the diaspora.
The video showed her speaking about Ethiopia’s memorandum of understanding with Somaliland, which Somalia alleges infringes on its territory.
