The Chicago suburb of Oak Brook has seen an increase in retail theft and burglaries, with the primary culprits being recently arrived illegal border crossers from Chicago.

The Oak Brook Police Department has arrested 47 illegal aliens in connection with these crimes since October, and more than 175 since last year.

The thieves often use bags lined with tinfoil to evade store anti-theft protection.

The issue has been ongoing, with instances of thefts and robberies, particularly at the Oak Brook shopping mall.

These incidents involve individuals, primarily from Venezuela, stealing significant amounts of merchandise from stores like Macy’s.
