Barney, a red panda at Cologne Zoo, escaped his enclosure and was rescued from a tree by the fire department.

He was safely returned to his enclosure, grumbling slightly.

Red pandas, unlike giant pandas, are found in various regions and eat more than just bamboo.

“The zookeepers caught the little panda on the ground and released him back into his enclosure,” the zoo wrote online.

They are also endangered, with fewer than 10,000 remaining in the wild.

Other red pandas, such as Ravi in Australia and Rusty in Washington, D.C., have also made news for escaping their enclosures.
