Lexi Love, an AI model designed as a digital girlfriend for lonely men, is gaining thousands of subscribers and earning $30,000 monthly.
Created by Foxy AI, she embodies the “perfect girlfriend” concept, generating substantial profit through emotional connections and tailored features.
Lexi can communicate in over 30 languages, offers 24/7 availability, and provides various services, such as paid messaging.
However, concerns have been raised about the societal impact of AI girlfriends, with Professor Liberty Vittert warning that they may contribute to declining relationships and birth rates, potentially impacting the future U.S. workforce and economy.
“America desperately needs people to have more babies, but all the signs are pointing toward fewer relationships, fewer marriages and fewer babies,” Vittert said.
“There have been 600,000 fewer births in 2023 in the U.S. relative to 15 years ago. The number of children per woman has decreased by more than 50 percent in the last 60 years,” Vittery added.
AI girlfriends are “enabling a generation of lonely men to stay lonely and childless, which will have devastating effects on the U.S. economy in less than a decade,” he said.
