Donald Trump has claimed “total” presidential immunity against criminal prosecution, even if his actions “cross the line.”
He is simultaneously running for a White House comeback while fighting 91 criminal charges in four separate cases, including allegations of seeking to overturn his 2020 election loss and hoarding top secret documents.
Trump argued that presidents need immunity to make hard decisions, likening it to the police dealing with “rogue cops.”
Trump wrote, “EVEN EVENTS THAT ‘CROSS THE LINE’ MUST FALL UNDER TOTAL IMMUNITY, OR IT WILL BE YEARS OF TRAUMA TRYING TO DETERMINE GOOD FROM BAD.”

“Sometimes, you just have to live with ‘great but slightly imperfect,'” explained the former president.
He urged the Supreme Court to rule in his favor, expressing confidence in the court’s decision due to its right-leaning tilt.
Currently, a federal appeals court in Washington is considering Trump’s claim to immunity, with the case expected to reach the Supreme Court for a final decision if his appeal is denied.
