Nikki Haley faced backlash after an old tweet praising Bill Gates for funding COVID vaccine production resurfaced following her third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses.
Haley posted in 2020, “Thank you [Bill Gates] for donating billions of dollars to construct factories that will manufacture the seven most promising vaccines.”
“This will keep us from losing any time as potential vaccines move through the clinical trial process,” she added.

Critics, including Trump supporters, mocked her for the tweet and her performance in the caucuses.
TV personality Mindy Robinson labeled Nikki Haley a “Deep State war pig.”
Haley said, “Iowa made this Republican primary a two-person race.”
She came in third behind Trump and Ron DeSantis, leading to Vivek Ramaswamy suspending his campaign and endorsing Trump.
