The art dealer who sold Hunter Biden’s paintings testified to Congress that President Joe Biden was involved in promoting the artwork and that Hunter Biden was aware of the buyers’ identities, contradicting the White House’s claims about the art sales.
The dealer revealed that Hunter likely knew the identity of 70% of the buyers, including Democrat donors, and that the first son had an unusual request to be informed about the buyers.
The testimony also indicated that Joe Biden had contact with the art dealer, raising questions about the White House’s involvement in the supposed ethics agreement for the art sales.

Berges said, “I believe in the first contract, he was—he was able to know who the buyers were.”
“…I don’t know how it was phrased or—but I remember that there—that that was the difference,” he continued.
Berges was asked by a House investigator, “Is that normal or unusual, or where’s that? Is it a normal kind of contract?”
“That part was different. Normally, the gallerist does not let the artist know who the collectors are,” replied Berges.
“The first one was that I was required to disclose who the buyers were. In the second one, I was required to not disclose the buyers,” explained the art dealer.
“I haven’t represented him for four months now, and I think that also says something,” Berges continued.
“And I still talk to him as a friend,” he added.
A House investigator asked, “Have you spoken to President Biden?”
“Yes,” responded Berges.
“Okay. And was that in person or on the phone or both?” asked the investigator.
“Both,” said Berges.
“Can you tell me about the in-person meeting, where that was, when that was?” the investigator asked.
“At the White House wedding during Hunter’s – Hunter’s daughter getting married,” claimed the art dealer.
“Okay. And then on the phone?” the investigator pressed.
“My daughter finished camp and he called to, you know, wish her, congratulate her for finishing camp and I answered the phone,” Berges explained.
An investigator asked Berges, “When you’re seeing in the press that the White House is putting in certain safeguards regarding an ethics agreement but you’ve had no conversations with [the] White House, I mean, did you ever say to Hunter Biden, ‘Hey, where’s this coming from?’”
“I might have. I probably did, yeah,” said Berges.
“And do you remember what he said to you?” asked the investigator.
“I don’t . . . . I do remember being surprised,” replied Berges.
“Why were you surprised?” the investigator inquired.
“Because I hadn’t had any communication with the White House about an agreement,” Berges explained.
