Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spent a combined $72 million in Iowa’s Republican caucuses, placing second and third respectively.
The substantial spending reflects the strong grassroots support for former President Donald Trump in the state.

According to CNN:
• Pro-Haley: $37 million
• Pro-DeSantis: $35 million
• Pro-Trump: $18.3 million
• All others: $33.2 million
The CNN entrance poll indicated positive signs for Trump, who was the early winner with 53 percent support, followed by DeSantis and Haley.
The top issues for Republican caucus-goers were immigration and the economy.
Despite the significant spending and results in Iowa, Trump leads in New Hampshire according to polling.
