A recent ABC News/Ipsos poll reveals that Americans are divided on how the U.S. Supreme Court should handle former President Donald Trump’s ballot access.
A majority of Democrats support the court either barring Trump from presidential ballots nationally or letting states make that decision.
The survey also shows substantial support for criminal charges against Trump, contrasting with views on the impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden initiated by House Republicans. (Trending: Trump Defies Court And Delivers Closing Argument At Civil Fraud Trial)

The poll indicates that a conviction is unlikely to shake Trump’s base, however, and there is notable intensity in both the Trump and Biden cases.
Partisanship heavily influences these results, with differences based on ideological preferences and race/ethnicity.
The survey was conducted online and involved a random national sample of 2,228 adults.
