House Republicans have prepared a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena related to the House impeachment inquiry against President Biden.
The resolution and accompanying report argue that Hunter Biden’s testimony is crucial to the impeachment inquiry, alleging that President Biden may have been involved in and profited from his son’s foreign business interests.
The House Oversight and Judiciary Committees are set to consider the resolution, with Republicans arguing that Hunter Biden’s refusal to comply with subpoenas warrants prosecution. (Trending: Chilling Arrest Footage of Trump Co-Defendant Provides Glimpse Into Jack Smith Probe)

“Mr. Biden has violated federal law, and must be held in contempt of Congress,” the report stated.
“The Oversight and Accountability Committee, with the other investigating committees, has accumulated significant evidence suggesting that President Biden knew of, participated in, and profited from foreign business interests engaged in by his son, about which the Committees intended to question Mr. Biden during his deposition,” the report added.
“Mr. Biden’s decision to defy the Committees’ subpoenas and deliver prepared remarks prevents the Committee from carrying out its Constitutional oversight function and its impeachment inquiry,” it reads.
“Hunter Biden’s willful refusal to comply with our subpoenas constitutes contempt of Congress and warrants referral to the appropriate United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” James Comer said.
“We will not provide him with special treatment because of his last name.”
Democrats, however, criticize the move, stating that Hunter Biden had offered to testify in public and under oath.
Notably, the impeachment inquiry against President Biden is being led by House Republicans.
