A U.S. citizen, Robert Woodland Romanov, has been arrested in Russia on drug charges, amid escalating tensions between the two countries over Ukraine.
The Moscow courts have ordered him to be held in custody for two months pending investigation.

The arrest comes as the U.S. seeks the release of other jailed Americans in Russia, including journalist Evan Gershkovich and security executive Paul Whelan.
Some analysts suggest that Russia may be using these individuals as bargaining chips in the current geopolitical climate.
