A multi-agency investigation in Florida led to the arrests of 11 people and the seizure of a significant amount of fentanyl and other drugs.

The operation targeted two drug trafficking rings and resulted in the confiscation of cocaine, fentanyl, firearms, a vehicle, and cash.

The individuals arrested are legally in the United States, with most being of Puerto Rican descent and having criminal histories. (Trending: Joe Biden Sets New Presidential Record)

The investigation was supported by the State Financial Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (SAFE) program.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd emphasized the destructive impact of drug trafficking on communities.

“We’re fighting a battle that we’ve got to win,” Judd said. “Fentanyl is killing people by the thousands across this country.”

“These drug traffickers are destroying lives, families and communities. These drugs go hand-in-hand with violence and misery in our communities,” Judd said.
