Christopher Worrell, a Proud Boys member involved in the 2021 Capitol attack, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after fleeing to avoid sentencing.
He was convicted of assault, civil disorder, and obstruction of an official proceeding.
Worrell apologized to the judge and his attorney argued for leniency due to health issues. (Trending: Hollywood A-Listers Revealed In Epstein Court Documents)
“Nearly three years ago today, I made some choices I sincerely regret,” Worrell said. “Please forgive me and have mercy on me.”
“The entire time, Worrell knew he was fine,” prosecutors said.
“Worrell had many, many opportunities to admit his conduct or express remorse, even after conviction,” they added. “He instead fled and had to be dragged, while faking a medical emergency, back into custody.”
Despite faking a drug overdose and fleeing, the judge showed some leniency due to Worrell’s poor health, expressing concern about him dying in prison.
