Democratic lawmakers are wary of Joe Biden debating Donald Trump, fearing that it would elevate Trump’s status.
Senator Dick Durbin advised Biden to reconsider debating Trump, citing Trump’s extremism.

“I’ve been physically present at one of [Trump’s] debates with Hillary Clinton, and I watched him do outrageous things and say outrageous things.”
“It’s just an opportunity for him to display his extremism.”
However, Trump is eager to debate Biden and is willing to do as many debates as they want.
“Oh will I look forward to that,” Trump said.
“How about 10 debates?”
“They are totally corrupt and they’re terrible. With that being said, I would do 20 debates, even if it was organized by them. I would do as many debates as they want,” he said.
“I’d do a debate every night with this guy.”
