Elon Musk criticized Mark Cuban’s support for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, accusing Cuban of hypocrisy.
“Mark Cuban is desperately trying to signal his ‘virtue,’ but his hypocrisy convinces no one,” Musk wrote.
“Lol,” Cuban replied. (Trending: Hollywood A-Listers Revealed In Epstein Court Documents)

Cuban had defended DEI policies in response to Musk’s criticisms, emphasizing the benefits of inclusive hiring practices.
“You may not agree, but I take it as a given that there are people of various races, ethnicities, orientation, etc that are regularly excluded from hiring consideration,” Cuban wrote.
“By extending our hiring search to include them, we can find people that are more qualified. The loss of DEI-Phobic companies is my gain,” he added.
“Cool, so when should we expect to see a short white/Asian women on the Mavs?” Musk asked.
The discussion arose after fund manager Bill Ackman claimed that DEI was the root cause of antisemitism at Harvard.
Both Musk and Ackman have expressed skepticism towards DEI, with Musk labeling it as “just another word for racism.”
“DEI is racist because reverse racism is racism, even if it is against white people (and it is remarkable that I even need to point this out),” Ackman wrote.
Despite this, Musk clarified that he supports diversity as a tiebreaker when merit for a job is similar.
“I do think that if merit for a given job is roughly the same, then the tiebreaker should be diversity (of all kinds),” Musk said.
Cuban responded to Musk’s remarks with a link to a previous statement about considering drafting a female player for his NBA team.
Cuban declined to comment further, stating that he was just having fun.
