Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley made a misstep during a campaign event, seemingly belittling Iowa caucus goers, which drew criticism from fellow GOP candidates and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

While historically New Hampshire has better predicted the eventual Republican nominee, Haley’s comments could harm her campaign.

“We have an opportunity to get this right. And I know we’ll get it right and I trust you,” Haley said in New Hampshire. (Trending: Sports Icon Dies Suddenly At 56)

“You know how to do this. You know Iowa starts it. You know that you correct it. … And then my sweet state of South Carolina brings it home. That’s what we do.”

Despite leading in Iowa, Haley’s missteps may erode her position, as she lacks strong popularity and has been accused of leaning too far left.

“Unreal. Nikki Haley belittles Iowa caucus goers — claiming their decisions will need to be corrected by New Hampshire voters,” DeSantis’ team wrote on X.

“I trust Iowans to make their own decisions. No ‘corrections’ needed!” Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said.

Her remarks have drawn comparisons to President Biden, which may not bode well for her chances.
