President Joe Biden’s age and ability to handle a heavy workload have raised concerns among his aides.
The president’s schedule, diet, and low approval ratings have been topics of discussion.

“He is his own worst enemy when it comes to his schedule,” a former Biden aide noted.
Jill and Joe keep “an eye on one another’s schedules for the sake of balance — and they are far from the only couple in the administration who does that,” a White House official stated.
“Try being 110 and doing it again,” the president joked over the summer. “I know I’m 198 years old,” he later quipped.
“I’ve never been more optimistic about our country’s future in the 800 years I’ve served.”
“I think that it’s important we continue to show the work that the president’s doing day in and day out,” Biden’s campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said.
“I think it’s a perfect example of the kind of schedule that he continues to keep, the kind of hard work that he continues to do on behalf of the American people, and the fact that he continues to show really strong, steady leadership at every turn.”
Biden has made light of his age in public remarks, and his campaign has defended his fitness by pointing to his packed schedule and international travel.
As he approaches a potential second term, questions about his age and fitness for office continue to be a focus.
