The city of New York is facing a significant issue of food waste as millions of dollars are spent on meals for illegal immigrants, with many of the meals ending up in the garbage.
The company responsible for supplying these meals, DocGo, received a lucrative no-bid contract despite having no experience in food preparation.
Meanwhile, food insecurity is on the rise for Americans, and homelessness has increased. (Trending: Obama Reveals His Fear For Joe Ahead Of 2024)

This waste is occurring alongside budget cuts, leading to outrage among city officials.
DocGo is also under investigation for mistreatment of migrants.
“It’s very expensive for the taxpayer,” City Councilwoman Gale Brewer said.
“We’re asking for cuts while we are wasting food.”
“DocGo’s food waste is symptomatic of a larger systemic failure on the part of Mayoral Admin. The complete absence of oversight, accountability, quality assurance, and transparency in administering these food contracts is shocking and must be addressed immediately,” Councilwoman Julie Won said.
“DocGo has continued to deliver on its contractual obligations and has ordered no more than 3 meals daily for each asylum seeker,” a representative stated.
“DocGo continually monitors food consumption and works to proactively identify opportunities for savings on behalf of NYC. Meal consumption currently sits at 93 percent,” the company said.
The situation highlights government inefficiency and the wastage of taxpayer money on both Americans and illegal immigrants.
