The organization is targeting competitive states like North Carolina and Wisconsin, where heavily gerrymandered maps have favored Republicans.
DLCC President Heather Williams emphasized the party’s momentum and plans to protect progress, flip key chambers, and challenge GOP supermajorities.
“2023 laid the foundation for 2024 to be the year of the states,” the DLCC president said.
“Our work is not over — 2024 promises even more opportunities for building Democratic power and infrastructure in the states,” DLCC president Heather Williams stated.
“We have record-level momentum fueling us into the new year, and the DLCC is poised to protect our progress, flip key chambers, and unravel GOP supermajorities.”
“2023 laid the foundation for 2024 to be the year of the states,” she added.
The memo also highlighted specific victories and the national prominence of certain Democratic lawmakers.
Additionally, Democrats saw success at the statewide level, including reelecting Kentucky’s governor and achieving a close result in the Mississippi governor’s race.
