The Republican-controlled House passed a bill prohibiting the use of public land for temporary accommodation of undocumented migrants during their asylum application process.

The bill is expected to face opposition in the U.S. Senate, where Democrats hold a slim majority.

Additionally, the House also voted to authorize an investigation into President Joe Biden’s potential impeachment, focusing on his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings. (Trending: Joe Biden Impeachment Formalized As Republicans Unite)

According to reports, “The bill, H.R. 5283, passed with a majority of Republicans in support, 224–203.”

“It’s dead on arrival in the U.S. Senate, where Democrats hold a slim majority, and many Democrats criticized the bill as a messaging tactic for the 2024 elections, where hard-line immigration policies are the cornerstone of the GOP platform,” it continued.

House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman said, “The mission of the National Park Service is to conserve the natural and cultural resources for the enjoyment of future generations, not bail out the failed border policies of the Biden administration.”

The White House rejected the investigation, while former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi criticized the move as politically motivated.

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused current Speaker Johnson of giving the GOP lawmakers “a red meat political stunt to distract constituents from their historically unproductive year” by pursuing a “baseless impeachment of President Joe Biden.”

“He says he has no choice the fact is, he has no respect, no respect for the Constitution of the United States, no respect for his members, whom he’s asking to vote for an impeachment with no basis,” charged Pelosi.

Republicans have alleged potential criminal activity involving money laundering or human trafficking in Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings, prompting further calls for investigations.

Sen. Ron Johnson has stated that “banks filed at least six reports concerning Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings that flagged President Biden’s home address in Delaware and raised concerns about possible criminal activity involving money laundering or human trafficking.”.

Johnson added “that the Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS) chronicled about $12 million in transactions over several years, some of which passed through Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Del., home where he had allowed his son to stay.”

“There’d be so much activity coming into his address, in this case, Hunter Biden’s businesses, that he obviously would have to be aware,” said Johnson about Joe Biden.

“So, again, I just use the word obvious. It has been so obvious for so long that Biden Inc. is a corrupt enterprise. And that this president is corrupt, that he is compromised,” he added.
