A man from Tyler, Texas is facing charges for evading arrest and human smuggling after police found seven illegal immigrants in his vehicle during a high-speed pursuit.

The driver, identified as Lee Stratford, led troopers on a chase and allowed migrants to flee before being apprehended.

The migrants were turned over to Border Patrol agents for processing. (Trending: Joe Biden Impeachment Formalized As Republicans Unite)

More than 2.8 million migrants have had encounters with authorities so far in 2023. This is already higher than the 2.7 million migrants encountered in 2022.

The data show a rise of “special interest aliens” from Afghanistan (6,386), Egypt (3,153), Iran (659), Syria (538), Uzbekistan (12,264), Turkey (30,830), Pakistan (1,163), Lebanon (164), Jordan (185), Iraq (123), and Mauritania (15,594).

These encounters occurred between October 2021 and October 2023.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed these individuals could pose “a national security risk to the United States or its interests.”

“Often such individuals or groups are employing travel patterns known or evaluated to possibly have a nexus to terrorism. DHS analysis includes an examination of travel patterns, points of origin, and/or travel segments that are tied to current assessments of national and international threat environments,” DHS said in 2019.

An estimated 1.5 million “gotaways” made it into the U.S. under Biden.

“The increase in encounters of individuals on the terror screening data set are largely commensurate with the increased flow to the border more broadly,” a DHS official said in September.

“Naturally, as we see more people arrive at the border from different countries, we are more likely going to see an increase in individuals who might be on the watchlist or directly related to terror activity.”

Critics say the US immigration system has been fundamentally broken under Joe Biden as the country experiences a historic and unprecedented crisis.

The Biden administration signaled to the world that everyone can come through the border even if it’s illegally and without proper documentation.

Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy forced foreign nationals seeking to enter the U.S. illegally or without proper documentation to be returned to Mexico.

These individuals needed to wait in Mexico while their legal cases are adjudicated. This border security program under Trump and kept migrants in Mexico as they awaited their hearings.
