A federal appeals court temporarily paused a ruling allowing the Border Patrol to remove barbed wire installed by Texas authorities on the border.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued an administrative stay after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s appeal.

“This is an important step supporting Texas’s right to protect our citizens from Biden’s doctrine of open borders at any cost,” he added.
“Biden’s doctrine of open borders at any cost threatens the safety of our citizens, and we will continue to fight it every step of the way,” he stated previously.
U.S. District Judge Alina Moses, while declining to issue an injunction, criticized the Biden administration’s handling of the border, stating that the evidence demonstrates their failure to deter unlawful entry.
“The law may be on the side of the Defendants and compel a resolution in their favor today, but it does not excuse their culpable and duplicitous conduct,” the judge said.
“The Defendants cannot claim the statutory duties they are so obviously derelict in enforcing as excuses to puncture the Plaintiff’s attempts to shore up the Defendants’ failing system,” she wrote.
Texas sued the administration for cutting the border wire, with Paxton emphasizing the state’s right to protect its citizens and opposing the “doctrine of open borders.”
