John Kerry, the U.S. special presidential envoy for climate change, expressed confidence in the U.S.’s commitment to addressing climate change, regardless of the next president, likening the democratic process to sex.
He assured attendees at the COP28 climate meeting that a potential Trump presidency would not hinder the global green transition.

“Could he, or someone else who doesn’t want to listen to the science, or doesn’t read about it or care about the facts, have an impact? Yes,” Kerry said of Trump.
But they will “not going to stop what is happening” — an international shift to “a low-carbon or no-carbon economy.”
Despite previous challenges from Trump’s administration, Kerry emphasized the ongoing global movement towards a low-carbon or no-carbon economy.
