The encounter took place at the Lukesville, Arizona border crossing, which has experienced a surge in migrant activity.

“I’m good person,” he continued.
Adding, “I wanna be good person here in the United States.”
Large groups from various regions, including Africa, the Middle East, and South America, have been entering the U.S. illegally, leading to processing challenges.
The surge in illegal border crossings has continued, with a record 2.48 million encounters in the fiscal year 2023, up from 2.38 million in 2022.
