A Florida middle school teacher’s assistant, Ute Galloway, was arrested for allegedly slapping a student during a classroom activity.

The incident occurred when the student looked at his paper during a game, and Galloway reportedly hit him.

Galloway apologized afterward but the school did not follow up with the parents. (Trending: Another Major Company Goes Woke And Goes Broke)

Surveillance footage and witness accounts supported the student’s report.

Galloway, who faces a charge of child abuse, is still employed by Lake County Schools but is no longer working with students.

“An officer reviewed surveillance video of the incident after the child’s parents reported it,” the report found.

Two other students corroborated the victim’s story about what happened. The student involved is 14 years old.

The district did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
