Finland has accused Russia of orchestrating a surge of migrants to its border after joining NATO, leading to the closure of the last open border crossing.
The Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo cited a “profound reason to suspect” that Russia is organizing the entry of migrants, with about 1,000 arriving since August.
“The government has decided to close all the crossing points on the entire eastern border,” Orpo said. (Trending: Chilling Surveillance Program Under Biden Exposed)
“Finland has a profound reason to suspect that the entry (of migrants) is organized by a foreign state,” Orpo added.
“This deals with Russia’s influencing operations and we won’t accept it. We don’t accept any attempt to undermine our national security. Russia has caused this situation, and it can also stop it.”
Russian authorities deny involvement, expressing regret over the deterioration of bilateral relations.
