The current right-wing’s intense animosity towards America, led by former President Trump, has come to a peak in recent months.
Trump’s plans to use the military against political opponents, his disdain for the press, and his derogatory remarks about immigrants have served as fuel for much of the hatred.
Many believe Trump’s influence has led to a disrespect for American democracy within the GOP, citing incidents of violence and obstruction.
“We have seen this kind of toxic rhetoric inspire real-world violence before in places like Pittsburg and El Paso,” head of the Anti-Defamation League Jonathan Greenblatt said.
The growing influence of hatred and violence within the Republican Party, particularly as it pertains to Trump’s presidential nomination, has been pointed out by a number of Democratic leaders in recent campaigns.
Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman apologized for using the word “eliminated” in reference to Donald Trump, stating that he mistakenly used the wrong word and meant to emphasize the importance of Trump not becoming President again.
Goldman had previously expressed concerns about Trump’s rhetoric, calling it dangerous and stating that Trump cannot hold public office again.
“His rhetoric is really getting dangerous,” Goldman said.

“More and more dangerous.”
“We saw what happened on January 6th, when he used his inflammatory rhetoric now, and his recent truth social post is incredibly, incredibly scary for anyone that might be trying to work in government.”
“And it is just unquestionable at this point that man cannot see public office again.”
Yesterday on TV, I mistakenly used the wrong word to express the importance for America that Donald Trump doesn’t become President again.
While he must be defeated, I certainly wish no harm to him and do not condone political violence.
I apologize for the poor choice of words.
