A recent report has highlighted the diminishing U.S. naval superiority over China, particularly in submarine warfare.
Chinese technological advancements have made their submarines harder to detect, posing a challenge to U.S. dominance in the waters around China.
While China’s fleet may not match the individual capability of the U.S., it is rapidly expanding its submarine production.

The U.S. military faces a shortfall in nuclear-powered attack submarines and may not reach its required numbers until 2049.
“The implications for the U.S. and our Pacific allies will be profound,” former Navy officer Christopher Carlson said.
China’s growing submarine fleet and enhanced surveillance capabilities raise concerns about potential confrontations, with implications for U.S. forces in the Pacific.
The report also suggests that American submarines’ assumed superiority in simulations of a Taiwan attack may no longer hold, potentially necessitating a defensive stance.
Additionally, China’s expanding navy and increasing demands on U.S. forces raise the likelihood of a confrontation.
