Taylor Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties,” successfully orchestrated a campaign to project a Swift-inspired image onto the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
The initiative began on social media ahead of Swift’s concerts in Brazil and involved a request to the mayor, who agreed to the projection if 20,000 units of a holiday bread and clean water were donated to support local charities.
The Swifties quickly raised the required funds, and the statue was illuminated with the projection in honor of Swift’s arrival.

“I’m going to ask dear Father Omar to see if we can get this honor,” mayor Eduardo Paes posted.
“We will properly honor Taylor Swift and her arrival to Carioca territory tonight,” he later confirmed.
“Welcome, Taylor Swift.”
The campaign was seen as a mobilization for solidarity and an example of fans using their energy for a positive cause.
