The resurfacing of a 2002 letter written by Osama bin Laden has sparked controversy on TikTok, with users referencing the letter to justify violence against Americans and express their agreement with bin Laden’s message.

The letter focuses on US support for Israel and contains strong antisemitic allegations.

Bin Laden also accuses the US of supporting various atrocities against Muslims in the letter, justifying al-Qaeda’s terrorism.

“The people of Palestine are pure Arabs and original Semites,” bin Laden wrote.

“It is the Muslims who are the inheritors of Moses (peace be upon him) and the inheritors of the real Torah.”

“The American people are the ones who choose their government by way of their own free will. …Also the American army is part of the American people.”

“It is this very same people who are shamelessly helping the Jews fight against us,” he added.

Its praise on TikTok has led to strong condemnation, and it went viral amid the significant division over the Israel-Hamas war.
