Two recent polls in New Hampshire show former President Donald Trump as the dominant front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, with 46% and 42% support among likely Republican primary voters.
Former ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is in second place with 18% and 20% support in the respective polls.
Trump’s supporters appear more enthusiastic and committed compared to those backing his rivals, and while Trump’s lead in the GOP field has expanded, Haley seems to be consolidating her position as the alternative to Trump among New Hampshire Republicans. “While Trump continues to lead as the GOP field narrows, Nikki Haley seems to be consolidating her position as the alternative to Trump among New Hampshire Republicans,” UNH Survey Center’s Andrew Smith said.
“Importantly, Haley does not have the negative drag on her campaign compared with other Republican candidates.”
Other candidates like Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy also show varying levels of support in these polls.
