“Does this piss anybody else off?”

Xi’s visit included a dinner with top American business leaders, aiming to ease tensions between the U.S. and China.

“China is pursuing high-quality development, and the United States is revitalizing its economy,” Xi stated during the meal. “There is plenty of room for our cooperation.”

While some attendees praised Xi, others viewed his speech as propaganda and expressed skepticism about his intentions.

“[Xi] offered no hints of concessions to business or even interest in more investment in the Chinese economy,” a business executive pressed.

“The speech was propaganda at its finest.”

Additionally, the city’s swift cleanup of its homeless problem for Xi’s visit sparked criticism, with some noting the disparity in addressing issues faced by citizens.
