Former President Donald Trump’s New York fraud trial took a heated turn when Judge Arthur Engoron became angry and chastised the Trump attorneys for disparaging his principal law clerk.
The judge accused them of misogyny and imposed a gag order on the defendants after Trump criticized the clerk on social media.
“Sometimes I think there’s a bit of misogyny in you referring to my female principal law clerk,” the judge pressed.

The attorneys suggested that the clerk may be improperly influencing the judge, but Engoron defended her role and slammed the table in frustration.
Trump’s attorney Alina Habba quickly shot down the idea that she could be a misogynist, as she is a woman.
Eric Trump, who was testifying, appeared uncomfortable during the exchange.
Trump has violated the gag order twice, resulting in fines, and the judge may expand the order if it continues.
Judge Arthur Engoron has now fined Donald Trump a total of $15,000. Yesterday Trump gave a testimony about the gag order and the Judge decided immediately it was “hollow and untrue” and slapped down the fine.
