A drone attack on a U.S. base in Syria was successfully thwarted, with two drones disabled or destroyed by the base defense system.

This comes amidst a series of attacks on U.S. and Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria between October 17 and 31, with most of the attacks being disrupted and failing to reach their targets.

U.S. forces were attacked at least 27 times. (Trending: It’s Time For Donald Trump To Drop Out)

16 happened in Iraq and 11 took place in Syria. They included a mix of one-way attack drones and rockets.

Iranian forces are believed to be behind the attacks, and senior U.S. officials have discouraged Iran’s involvement and vowed retaliation if U.S. forces are intentionally targeted.

The U.S. has deployed additional troops and forces in the Mediterranean Sea in response.
