Suspect Arrested in Tampa Shooting

Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting in Tampa, Florida that killed two people and injured 16 others.

The incident occurred after a dispute between two individuals, resulting in gunfire.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Tyrell Steven Phillips, has been charged with second-degree murder. (Trending: Joe Biden Historic Take Down of Guns)

The majority of the victims have been released from the hospital, and five remain with non-life-threatening injuries.

“The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. near a strip of bars and clubs in the 1600 block of East 7th Avenue in the Ybor City neighborhood,” the report found.

“Sixteen others were injured, 15 of whom suffered injuries from gunshot wounds.”

Surveillance footage is being reviewed to potentially identify additional shooters.

The police department has expressed a strong stance against such violence and vows to take swift action against those involved.

The circumstances leading to the fight are still being investigated.

“What happened is completely unacceptable and the Tampa police department is not going to tolerate it,” Bercaw said.

“We make arrests quickly. We have a sense of urgency. And if you’re going to be out there with a gun, you’re going to pay for it.”
