Bill Maher criticized how Democrat-led legal actions against Trump have stalled, saying they “blew it at every turn.”
He pointed to delays in Alvin Bragg’s New York hush money case due to a prosecutor’s affair, and Fani Willis’ Georgia RICO probe.
“I mean the Democrats have had four years to put Trump on trial and it is all just going away. They blew it at every turn,” Maher said.
“Now she’s the prosecutor, she’s having an affair with the guy she hired. I mean it’s not really relevant to the case, but they left an opening. And now that one’s going to be delayed,” Maher said of Willis. “So it’s Stormy or bust.”
Maher played a 2018 clip of Stormy Daniels saying her encounter with Trump wasn’t assault or coercion, contrasting this with her current testimony using “#MeToo buzzwords” like power imbalance and shaking hands.
He deemed Daniels a “horrible witness,” questioning claims of blacking out from a porn star and arguing past statements clash with her trial role, suggesting the cases against Trump are weak and Democrats mishandled pursuing him legally.
“I mean I wasn’t assaulted, I wasn’t attacked or raped or coerced or blackmailed. They tried to shove me in the me too box in front of their own agenda and first of all I didn’t want any part of that because it’s not the truth and I’m not a victim in that regard,” Daniels said in 2018.
“That’s not what she’s saying though,” Maher said. “She’s talking about he was bigger and blocking the way. It’s all the ‘me too’ buzzwords. She said there was a power imbalance of power for sure. My hands were shaking so hard. She said she blacked out. Blacked out? She’s a porn star.”
“So, I just think this is, I just think she’s not a good witness,” Maher said.
