Hunter Biden plans to “imminently” sue Fox News for defamation related to their reporting on sexually explicit images of him that originated from his abandoned laptop in 2019.
His attorneys sent letters to Fox News and Fox Corporation calling the images “hacked” and claiming publishing blurred versions would violate revenge porn laws.
“FOX knows that these private and confidential images were hacked, stolen, and/or manipulated digital material,” the letter read.
Hunter Biden’s legal team is pursuing an aggressive strategy to publicly fight back against what they view as defamatory claims by conservative media about Hunter and Joe Biden’s activities in Ukraine.
Specifically, they want Fox News to retract reports involving a now-indicted FBI source who had alleged the Bidens were engaged in a corruption scheme.
CNN reported, “[Hunter Biden is] seeking corrections and retractions on air and in online articles to claims that President Biden and his son engaged in a bribery scheme abroad.”
“Hunter Biden’s legal team has undertaken an aggressive legal and public relations strategy for several months. His lawyers have fired off letters demanding investigations into Hunter Biden’s opponents and filed a series of lawsuits against his detractors.”
While Hunter Biden has not filed suit yet, his lawyers say one is anticipated soon against Fox News, which has declined to comment on the threat of litigation.
