A scandal emerged in Fulton County DA Fani Willis’ RICO case against the YSL rap collective involving improper conduct by one of her investigators.

Text messages revealed that an investigator named Hamilton had been texting and trying to arrange a date with a female witness, A. Bennett, who was testifying in the case.

One text from Hamilton read “Hit me up if you’re bored later. We’re not gonna talk shop.”

“And this is February 7 of 2024, this year, when the investigator for the DA’s office is supposed to be talking to you about a case, but in fact, is calling you talking about going on a date. Is that true?” the witness was asked.

“Yes,” Bennett said.

Bennett confirmed Hamilton was attempting to ask her out, violating protocols about maintaining a professional relationship with witnesses.

Other texts referred to Bennett as “mama.”

“G[ood] m[orning] Mama. Hope you slept well. Again don’t come at 1:30. I have a feeling the defense will keep this same witness from yesterday all day again today. I’ll give you an update at 3pm. You will most likely go up tomorrow morning. I’ll talk 2 u soon,” one text read.

The incident drew further criticism of Willis’ wide-ranging RICO prosecutions of YSL and her prior case against Donald Trump, which have proceeded slowly over many months, raising questions about the conduct of investigators involved in Willis’ high-profile cases.
