A federal judge in Los Angeles rejected Hunter Biden’s requests to dismiss tax evasion charges against him.
Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is accused of failing to pay over $1.4 million in taxes from 2016 to 2019, while spending millions on drugs, escorts, luxury cars and other expenses.
His lawyer argued the charges should be dropped due to Republican pressure on prosecutors or immunity from a past plea deal, but the judge dismissed these claims.
Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to tax evasion as well as separate charges in Delaware of purchasing a handgun while using illegal drugs.
His criminal trial on the tax charges is tentatively set for June, with the judge planning to issue a formal ruling later this month on dismissing the case.
