Nancy Pelosi said President Biden should have referred to Laken Riley’s killer as “undocumented” rather than “illegal immigrant” in his State of the Union address.

Pelosi’s comment drew criticism given the context was Biden acknowledging Riley, a 22-year-old, was allegedly murdered by a migrant who crossed the border illegally recently.

“He should have said undocumented, but that’s not a big thing, OK?” Pelosi said.

“I wasn’t going to ask about that, but you do think he should have used the term undocumented?” Pelosi was asked.

“Well we say undocumented,” Pelosi said.

Immigration polling shows it is a top priority for voters, with over half viewing illegal immigration as a critical threat and supporting Trump’s border wall.

Democrats blame Republicans for rejecting an immigration deal that would have allowed thousands of daily illegal crossings, while GOP candidates emphasize border crossings continue unabated with the wall still incomplete.

Pelosi’s remark was viewed as tone deaf given the victimization of Americans by some illegal migrants.
