A recent testimony in a Georgia Senate hearing investigating possible misconduct by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in her handling of the Trump investigation has further exposed Willis’ questionable past behavior.
Attorney Ashleigh Merchant alleged that Willis met with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House in February 2023 before indicting Trump, based on a guest list.
“My understanding is it’s highly regulated, who can access the White House, so you have to apply in person or apply ahead of time,” Merchant said.
“Any further explanation of why Ms. Willis was meeting with the vice president of the United States?” the attorney asked.
“No,” Merchant said.
Republicans have launched probes into potential ethical violations by Willis related to her romantic relationship with subordinate Nathan Wade, whose hiring and the timeline of their affair are in question.
Witnesses have provided evidence contradicting Willis and Wade’s claims about when their relationship began.
“He essentially just left her after meeting Ms. Willis and dropping the kids off at college,” Merchant said regarding Wade.
The testimony shed light on Willis’ potential coordination with the Biden administration on the Trump case.
