A newly released transcript from a closed-door January 6 committee interview reveals that key testimony contradicted the committee’s public narrative.
The witness, Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato, testified that former President Trump had not wrestled with a Secret Service agent, as claimed, and that Trump had requested 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the Capitol.
However, the committee suppressed this evidence and falsely stated in their final report that there was no evidence of the troop request.
The transcript shows Rep. Liz Cheney was present at the interview where Ornato provided this testimony, which directly rebutted other claims the committee promoted.
Its suppression of exculpatory evidence raises questions about the committee’s impartiality and integrity.
