The silk cream-colored gown features a plunging neckline, open back, and long train.
Sweeney accessorized similarly to Jolie with the matching shawl and long custom necklace, while updating the hairstyle to an old Hollywood bob.
Jolie had worn her hair half up.
When Jolie wore the dress in 2004, she presented an Oscar but was not nominated herself.
Sweeney was not nominated either, but is known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus.
At the party, Sweeney posed with co-stars showcasing the iconic dress.
Several other celebrities also drew attention in vintage gowns from the 1990s and earlier, continuing the trend of rewearing iconic fashion moments from the past.
