US Border Patrol agents arrested five individuals with histories of sexually assaulting children over the weekend across various sectors.

The arrests included those convicted of sexual assault of a 15-year-old and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

They highlighted concerns over 1.8 million undocumented border crossers who evaded apprehension since 2021.

Separately, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that the southern border poses threats including drug trafficking, violent gangs, and smugglers linked to ISIS.

“From an FBI perspective, we are seeing a wide array of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border. And that includes everything from drug trafficking – the FBI alone seized enough fentanyl in the last two years to kill 270 million people – that’s just on the fentanyl side,” Wray said.

He said the FBI has intercepted dangerous amounts of fentanyl and sees a wide range of threats emanating from the border.
