At a New York Fire Department ceremony, Attorney General Letitia James was loudly booed by some in attendance when she began speaking.

After James started, several booed and chanted “Trump,” leading her to tell them to “simmer down.”

“Come on, we’re in a house of God…simmer down,” James said.

The FDNY chief called the behavior an “embarrassment.”

“Today’s ceremony was about one thing: the accomplishments of the members being promoted. The members whose behavior distracted from that celebration were an embarrassment and not befitting of the world’s best fire department,” FDNY Chief of Department John Hodgens said.

In response, the FDNY said those who booed James would be “re-educated” at headquarters about why their behavior was unacceptable.

A letter outlined plans to visit firehouses with promoted members and have those identified in videos come to HQ for re-education.

“We want the members to come forward. They will come to HQ to be educated why their behavior is unacceptable,” the memo read.

Critics argued this amounts to Marxist overreach and politics being prosecuted, noting no concern about booing Trump.

“After NY Firefighters exercised their 1st Amdt right to protest corrupt city leaders, a letter was sent saying anyone who booed Letitia James will be sent to HQ for re-‘education’,” Rogan O’Handley wrote on X.

“NYC has become a Marxist hellhole where politics are prosecuted & anyone objecting gets in trouble,” he added.
