A new Allstate insurance commercial starring NBA legend Larry Bird that aired during the 2024 Oscars broadcast has received wide praise.
In the commercial, Bird encounters the character “Mayhem” causing trouble in his attic.
“I’m a bird stuck in Larry Bird’s attic, and I’m going coo-coo!” Mayhem said.
“What the heck,” Bird says.
As Bird tries to catch Mayhem with a lacrosse stick, he ends up breaking things and falling through the attic floor, with his legs dangling through the ceiling.
“You might be a legend on the court, but you’re an amateur up here,” Mayhem said.
Viewers on social media reacted positively to the funny commercial featuring the usually reserved Bird.
“Larry Bird in the Allstate commercial, too funny,” one X user wrote.
“Oh, that Larry Bird Allstate commercial was hilarious,” another said.
While he has stayed out of the public eye since retiring, Bird has occasionally appeared in commercials over the years.
