Late night host Jimmy Kimmel took aim at former President Donald Trump during his monologue closing out the Academy Awards broadcast.
After Trump had posted criticisms of Kimmel and the Oscars to his Truth Social account during the show, Kimmel read Trump’s post aloud, mocking his reference to “Make America Great Again” which drew big laughs from the celebrity audience.
“Thank you President Trump. Thank you for watching — isn’t it past your jail time?” Kimmel said, generating enthusiastic applause.

Earlier, Kimmel had also poked fun at an Alabama senator by comparing her to a character in a film.
Kimmel’s hosting of last year’s Oscars drew one of the smallest TV audiences ever for the awards show, continuing its ratings decline despite blockbuster nominees, providing context for Trump’s social media critiques of Kimmel and the broadcast.
