Sean Hannity criticized Biden’s State of the Union address, saying he sounded like an “angry old man” in contrast to his usual portrayal of Biden as “Sleepy Joe” who struggles to speak coherently.
Hannity said Biden shouted and sped through his speech as if “hyper-caffeinated,” and that the AP’s description of Biden as “feisty” was too kind.
“Frankly, so at odds with the everyday Joe it’s even frightening to me,” Hannity said.
“He spent most the night shouting, speeding through his speech, and clearly overcompensating from the normal, everyday Joe that can barely string two sentences together,” he said.
While Hannity disparaged Biden’s demeanor, he did not initially comment on the Republican response given by Senator Katie Britt, though other Fox anchors described Britt’s delivery positively despite her performance being mocked online.
“I guess that’s one way to describe it,” Hannity said. “Tonight, America saw, um, let’s say a very different Joe Biden. I might call him ‘Jacked-up Joe,’ and that’s being charitable. He sounded like a hyper-caffeinated, angry old man.”
