In an interview, Gold Star mother Christy Shamblin revealed she has received no communication from President Biden regarding her daughter-in-law Nicole’s death in Afghanistan two years ago, contradicting Biden’s reputation as the “Consoler-in-Chief.”
When her family sought a meeting with the White House to understand its Afghanistan withdrawal, they received no response after months.
“We’ve not received a response. It’s been months,” mother Christy Shamblin said.
“Sorry to hear that,” the CNN anchor said.
Biden’s upcoming State of the Union address is expected to highlight differences from Republicans on economic policies benefiting younger Americans versus tax cuts for the wealthy.
He will also unveil plans for an “emergency” operation to establish a port in Gaza facilitating humanitarian aid delivery via large ships over weeks, according to defense officials.
This comes amid criticism of Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal execution and its impact on allies and Afghan partners.
