Ukraine stepped up attacks behind Russian lines, including an apparent car bomb killing a Russian-installed election official in occupied Berdyansk.
Meanwhile, strikes hit Odesa during a visit by the Greek PM, and a drone struck a fuel tank at a metals plant in Russia’s Kursk region.
“We heard the sound of sirens and explosions that took place near us. We did not have time to get to a shelter. It is a very intense experience,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said.
Both sides have increased aerial attacks as fighting continues on frontlines. Ukraine also says it built fortifications near recently captured Adviivka to halt further Russian advances.
“You can see who we are facing. They don’t care where they strike,” Zelensky said.
“A homemade explosive device was planted under the vehicle of a member of the precinct election commission,” the Investigative Committee stated.
However, delays in Western aid have left Ukrainian troops short on ammunition and unable to mount large offensives.
The IAEA head met Putin in Sochi to discuss the situation at occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, rejecting suggestions it could be reconnected due to the active combat zone and prolonged shutdown.
